# Salary cap hockey pool

A salary cap pool removes the draft: everyone can pick the same star, but each player has a price and your roster has to fit under the cap. You end up choosing between paying for a top scorer and finding value on a team you think will go deep.

## Default roster and scoring

- **6 forwards, 4 defence, 2 goalies** under a **$60M** cap
- Skaters: **1 point per goal, 1 per assist**
- Goalies: **2 points per win, 2 per shutout**

The commissioner can change the roster size and cap before picks lock. The Pool Pass adds custom points.

## Where player prices come from

Each playoff player gets a pool price from his regular-season scoring rate, so the best scorers cost the most. Prices are set once, before the playoffs start, and don't move afterwards.

## Salary cap vs draft
