Playoff salary cap pool
Salary cap hockey pool
A salary cap pool removes the draft: everyone can pick the same star, but each player has a price and your roster has to fit under the cap. You end up choosing between paying for a top scorer and finding value on a team you think will go deep.

Default roster and scoring
- 6 forwards, 4 defence, 2 goalies under a $60M cap
- Skaters: 1 point per goal, 1 per assist
- Goalies: 2 points per win, 2 per shutout
The commissioner can change the roster size and cap before picks lock. The Pool Pass adds custom points.
Where player prices come from
Each playoff player gets a pool price from his regular-season scoring rate, so the best scorers cost the most. Prices are set once, before the playoffs start, and don't move afterwards.
Salary cap vs draft
A cap pool runs itself: nobody has to meet for a draft and everyone can enter on their own schedule. A draft pool is more social and rewards draft-day strategy.
